Chasing the sounds I may or may not need, or the cool **** I won't really like, I've let a lot of incredible pedals go For me: FEA opti-FET: this thing made me sound so good people couldn't stop complimenting my fat tone... its like it was so good I thought that I sounded great and didn't need it. **** POG 2: It held my precious micro POG solo sound, my hifi slap presence, my lush swells, and so much more. Sold it dirt cheap to win the FEA MicroKorg: not a pedal, sure, but I was stupid and impatient with synthesis, and I'm missing out now that I know MUCH better Who here shares, or has shared my pain from our own fickleness?!
I was gonna start a "one that got away" thread, but now I'll just post in this one. My "OTGA" is a Subdecay Quasar. Not the Baby (which isn't as deep) or the DLX (which is too expensive and just...too much), but the original. I got an Akai Intelliphase and thought I no longer needed the Quasar. As good as the Akai is (and it's very good), the Quasar had its own resonant, funky, throbbing tones that the Akai just can't cop. Now the original Quasar is "rare", and the price, if you can find one, has gone up considerably.
I really thought this thread would get a lot more responses. Nobody else has any stories of pedals you regret selling?
Sold an avalon u5 for a channel strip with compression. Still regret that. Btw ive sold that channel strip as well... GAS is dangerous
I regret selling my FEA 2 Channel Mixer and FEA Growler. I don't know how much real practical use I'd have for either of them now (given my current setup), save playing around, but I wish I still had em... I guess the most of us regret selling any FEA effect we ever had. Frank does some superb work.
