GB Basses

  1. Anyone here own one of these basses? They're made in the UK. Yeah I know, they're pricey. The author of ''Ultimate Slap Bass'', Stuart Clayton plays one on the included CD's and man does it sound killer!

    U.K.
Yeah I know of them (most UK players do) a friend of mine had a custom one built for him. Strange thing is he never plays it and always finds himself always playing his 80's Stingray. GBs are very pretty boutique basses made by Bernie Goodfellow which are very adept at slap styles.

  7. I just purchased ''Ultimate Slap Bass'' by Stuart Clayton, and he uses a GB Bass on the 2 CDs. Sounds killer! Mind if I ask what one of those cost?

Hey. A Spitfire (the J bass style) I believe starts at just over 2k UK Pounds I believe (no toys like LEDs, etc) Rumours start at a few hundred more on top of that. Both instruments will get you "that" sound and more. Drop Bernie an email, I'm sure he'd be very interested to hear from you!

Unbelievable slap sound eh? I swear, these basses do it all... and more. I can't get enough of them!

Laurence Cottle demos have just been uploaded at http://www.gbguitars.co.uk/gb_bass_processor.asp
