GBE 750

I'll let you know a few days after mine arrives on the UPS truck... :hyper:

but there's quite a few big threads on Genz-Benz stuff in general, and the GBE1200 in particular, that you may want to read. The 750 and the 1200 are essentially the same amps, just with different power ratings. Same preamp, EQ, effects loops (3!), number of channels, tone shaping capabilities, etc... So what people have said about the 1200 more or less apply to the 750, just with less headroom.

I really like it's voicing possibilities. Wide range of good sounding tones. From sweet tube warmth to ss attack, combined with 2 complete eq's, plus 3 voicing filters (footswithable). And you can even mix them together (the signals). IMO it is the most versatile head available, that actually sounds really good (Compared to modeling and other digital stuff available).

I'll probably post it after the weekend. I'll hopefully be able to crank it a bit today just to see what it can do, and then play it in church over the weekend. So I'll be able to provide solo thoughts and gig thoughts on it...

I've posted a lot about my 1200 here. Same head, just a little more power. Do a search for my posts and it's all there.

In short, great head, great company, great customer service.

Well, after a friday night of cranking it in my friend's studio, playing with all the options, messing with the channel blending, etc, and then a weekend playing at church in a relatively big band (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keys, drums, bass, 4 vocalists)... I like it. Much clearer and more defined than my ashdown abm, and then a better grind sound if I needed it (which I didn't this weekend...). It's extremely versatile, with a great EQ section on each channel, and more blue lights than I know what to do with

It's showing me the limitations on my other gear, though. I don't like my Warwick at all any more. The low end is too flabby, and the high end is too weak, and the 2-band EQ is pretty much useless. I like the tone of my MiM Fender Jazz more than the warwick (although the warwick's playability is better). And my Aggie GS112 isn't going to be loud enough for me in some situations (although it's perfect for others, and sounds great).

Anyways, I'm extremely happy with the head. I'll hopefully have time this week to rackmount it with a tuner and compressor, and get my pedal board set up, and then my rig will be 90% there :hyper:
