I think it's a decent EQ pedal. It's not the MXR EQ pedal, but that pedal is $160. I say go for it. Can't comment on it being noisy, but most boss pedals are pretty quiet...

I heavily rely on one. It'd be great to have more versatility, however I bought mine new for $30 so I can't complain.

I think it is a fantastic pedal. I've compared it to the tone control of a sansamp bassdriver, a radial bassbone and several amplifier eq sections and always come back to the boss. It is well made, extremely quiet, has a great bypassed sound (its not true bypass but the bypass doesn't reduce the tone at all) and switches noiselessly. My only complaint is the tone control is too wide for my tastes. I would have liked +/- 10dB or so instead of the +/-20dB.

I could never get my Pbass to sound right until I got one of these. Plus the midband control is well placed and has allowed me to cut through the mix in some difficult rooms.

    I highly recommend it.

well, whatever it is, it is a bit touchy. I would have liked less range and more resolution on the controls to help fine tune the settings.
