I'm going to pull the trigger and order one. But I can't decide between Black or Sunburst... I have 2 other jazz basses - a red American Special, natural Vintage Mod 70s Squier 5 string, and 3 Teles - MIA and MIM standards in different sunbursts and a red MIM... what to do, what to do? :hyper:

  2. haha i was literally just looking at the sunburst one on ebay a few minutes ago! im always a sucker for sunburst. Esp with a maple fretboard.

So far, that ties the votes from people I've asked. 2 for sunburnst, two for black...

The sunburst is cooler. Drop a tort pickguard on it and you are in flavor country.

I love sunburst but I already HAVE so many sunburst/red guitars/basses I thinking black is the ticket... I had a black BT Jazzmaster, loved the color, but even though I dropped a Mastery bridge on it I couldn't fell the love LOL

I'm not usually much of a 'burst kinda guy, but for some reason I really like it on the Geddy...

  8. The black is the standard for Geddys so the 'burst is rarer by far. I've wondered which I would choose because the bulk of my 39 piece collection(guitar and bass)is black or sunburst. I would try to play each and go from there.

I would say Black, it just seems like Classic Geddy to me.

I'm guessing they mainly play and sound the same. I ordered one in black but the deal fell through, the next one I saw was sunburst, a bit less in price, went for it. I was never a great fan of a sunburst finish but when I got it out of the box it just looked like a work of art. Fell in love with it. The odd thing is as I was taking out of the box head-first, it just looked more and more beautiful. And clean. Oh, and sounds amazing as well.

  11. I have a Geddy in a burst - big fan of the burst! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1373647835.468016.jpg

Sunburst is always better for resale than black.

    That makes it a no-brainer.

Sunburst for sure! Looks amazing with the black pick guard and Geddy neck!

I understand that totally. However, I highly doubt that I'll ever sell this once I get it...

Maybe they should rename the sunburst one the Aston Barrett model?

I have a Black Geddy Lee and a Sunburst 70's Jazz and I love them both. Who knew that the Sunburst would look so good in ones hands. Either choice will be a winner as the bass itself is awesome.

    Enjoy.

Do you have any idea how many times I've heard that over the past forty-five years? :D

Always plan for resale, even if you're "NEVER" going to sell it. You'd be surprised. ;)

  20. I was just thinking the exact thing!
