Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by freshmeat1989, Jun 17, 2004.

  1. Does anyone have any photos of a Geddy Lee w/ a black pickguard? Also what is your opinions of a Geddy Lee sig. all around?

IMO, the Geddy Lee is the best bass that Fender makes.

  3. man i miss my geddy. still hoping someday there would be a 5 string version, but it will be a cold day in hell before that happens.
nino's red "geddy" with black pickguard is my absolute favorite "non-geddy" looking geddy bass! let's get warmoth to offer blocks and binding on 5 string necks!!!

i put a black pickguard on mine for a while but switched it back to white. it looked fantastic both ways in my opinion.

Actually Nino's red Geddy looks a lot like something Geddy actually has. He's got a red Geddy without a pickguard, just about the color of the Valenti. Has the control plate tho. Very sexy IMO.

  6. Thats what I was thinking. Nino is that a Geddy sig. or a custom bass?

  7. I've heard horror storys of the Geddy Sigs havin real bad necks and havin all these issues with backbow and warping and stuff? Has anyone had this happen to them or heard of it happening?

Heard of it happening, but not any more than any regular fender.

This was a Fender Geddy Lee with an absolutely beautiful flamed maple neck. I sold it last year or so.

The one with the Flame neck was perfect. Totally adjustable & straight as an arrow.

The one I currenlty own isn't perfect. :( The neck has a bow & the truss rod is maxed out. I can't wait til the winter when it's not as humid & the bow gets worse. :(

You're right, the inspiration for building the Red Jazz was this bass I saw on Rush's last tour:

  12. very true. i have been lucky enough to see geddy use the red jazz twice in concerts. i was only thinking about the sig model, and i just realized that jazz basses are one of the few basses i like pickguards on rather than having it without. :ninja:

edit: nice rio pics nino. that jazz has some great flame on it!

  13. So you got lucky and got a nice flame maple neck stock?
