So I bought a Geddy Lee Sig. Fender Jazz Bass today and I was wondering if you can possibly change the pot knobs.

I assume you can but I am too scarred to pull too hard on them so not to break it.

If someone has one and knows the answer or someone can give me a way to take them off without just pulling really hard it would be much appreciated.

It depend what knob they use on the bass. For fender bass i think you need a small allen key to unscrew the knobs out.

ya there looks to be a allen wrench slot...Does that me if I get new knobs they need to have to be screwed on with an allen wrench?

Yeah. I try that before on my fender classic 60, when i just buy any knob but at the end it didn't fit, so i have to buy the one with allen wrench on.

That means they most likely have solid-shaft pots.

Most push-in knobs are patterned for split shaft knobs which are smaller. You might want to read aftermarket descriptions before buying.

I got them off, but the knobs I had didn't fit. Luckly I didn't buy the knobs.

6mm ID mounting hole fits split shaft and metric solid shaft pots.

That should mean that they will fit, because the knobs fit both split and solid shaft?

    Am I correct?
