Geddy Lee Pickup Mistake?

    The original owner bought a brand new Geddy Jazz, and immediately replaced the pups with Barts.

    So I bought the Geddy pups from him.

    During my install, I noticed one pole looked different.

    Is it possible they put this pole upside down, and the beveled end is inside the pup?.

    Has anyone else noticed this on a Geddy Jazz Pup?

    (no biggie, there is no noticeable effect on sound)

    Just curious.

    Yes, looks like the pole is upside down. So much for QC! I have also heard of fender mistakenly putting non magnetic aluminum rods in place of of the magnets in some pickups. See if you can stick a paper clip or screw driver on that magnet.

    Ok done...yes the pole is in fact magnetic.

    ...and you're right about could something so up front and noticeable pass through the many stages of the build process?

    My guess is that they did notice...and didn't care, which IMO is just not right. (like I said, just a "guess").
