  1. Will a standard Jazz PG fit a Geddy?

I have one for sale in the classifieds and a TBer would like to know.

    Thx in advance

I bought a black tort pickguard off of the Bay from some music store in Chicago that I can't remember the name of that fit my Geddy just fine. The seller said the guard was made to fit the american standard J-basses along with some of the vintage speced Fenders and it did. It fortunately had no holes for a thumb rest and the only hole I added was the center screw hole which is on the Geddy's original white guard.

My advice is to look for pickguard that clones the american standard screw hole pattern on the outside edges in the same quasi-vintage pattern that the Geddy has. I bought mine some years ago and I'm sorry that I cant' remember the E-Bay seller or which company made the pickguard.

Good question. I want a brown tort for my GL and I don't think anyone makes them.

  5. I've heard the holes on a standard pickguard don't line up properly. That being said I ordered one specifically made for my Geddy Lee from this site and it worked fine.
