CAN ANYONE NAME THE UNITS IN GENE'S RACK?
Well he obviously has an Ampeg SVT2, but the pic is out of focus and the others can not be read well.
All of it? No. I do see a SansAmp, an Empress ParaEQ, and an Ampeg SVT-8PRO, though.
3rd from top is a sans amp psa1
Some Empress effects in the rack, and a Fulltone Tube Tape Echo, sitting on top.
When I saw the title of the thread, I thought I'd see a picture that looked like this one:
I was expecting manboobs.
Korg Pitchblack Tuner.
I remember a quote from Gene that I read years ago where he said something like "Amps don't matter, they all sound the same." Or maybe he said that about basses ... or maybe both.
Basically Gene is more interested in the look onstage than the tone onstage.
Well the SVT2 is pretty obvious, the only thing I can see that has not been named is the Furman power conditioner at the top. Looks like Gene uses the only useful feature too, the built in lights.
^ That reminds me of a famous quote from Keith Richards, when he was asked too many detailed questions about his amps. He said something along the lines of, "Give me any amp and I'll make it sound like Keith Richards."
Sometimes we fuss too much over gear.
AWESOME!! I AM LAUGHING SO HARD RIGHT NOW!
NICE RACK!!! HAHA!!
I AGREE...IT REALLY IS THE PLAYER THAT MAKES THE TONE!!
There you go... Gene Simmons' rack.
Isn't he some kind of a circus performer?
They only play 18 songs?
He's the circus owner.
