Been looking for a soft case or padded bag for taking extra stuff to shows. Looked at SKB, World Tour, Gator, Carvin.

Gimme some different brands I should be looking at.

The ideal, would be 15in x 15in x 6in deep. Zippers, external pouches, shoulder strap, standard fare. Hard foam or plastic inside the walls for structural integrity would be a plus.

What a visually painful website. UGH. But yes, their products are spiffy and neato, and built to take abuse. Apparently, the GSMIXL is about the right size. Let's see about prices... oooh. Hefty bite. But a great product commands a worthwhile price tag...

I have three GigSkinz bags. Two for my amp heads and a bass bag. I highly recommend them. Well built, plenty of pockets, and they look cool too!

    I like Protec and Zebracase.

Rok Sak is pretty rad too.

This would be great, except I am looking for the largest pocket to open up completely, clam-shell style. I wanna flop it open, drop a pile of stuff, then zip it up. Wanna avoid sliding it in like this bag's opening. But this looks like some very tough material and construction! I'll go see what other styles they make.

Go to an Army/Navy store, and check out their gear bags. I found a couple that work great, and not much $$.

  11. I use the SKB clarinet gig bag - great for a stand, power cord, Ai amp, misc cords.

On a similar note (and I don't mean to derail the thread), what do people think of using turntable cases for ready-made pedalboards? I've been looking at some used ones and it might be an ideal solution for me, but I'd like to get an opinion.

Heck yeah. Bought two big fat canvas duffel bags, for his cymbal hardware. The shoulder straps are awesome.

But for this pedalboard application, we wanted something with strong walls, to retain shape and keep from caving in.
