General Wattage Question....

    I never have fully understood this what "programmable" means in this context...

    "At the minimum impedance of 4 ohms, this amp can run continuously at 575 watts and is programmable at 900 watts."

    it's from a description of the Ashdown evo 500...

    Anyone care to explain this to me?

    "Program" Wattage is also known as Peak Wattage. Where "Continuous" is RMS.

    unless you want to get super tecnical the RMS wattage is all you really need to know
