Hi! I have a Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0 with the attached cab. I think it's a 10 inch speaker. I've been getting some hiss, and I think it's coming from the tweeter. Is this something I can fix at home? It only happens when I'm loud or using dirt. Thanks in advance!
If you are using it with an overdrive pedal, the added gain within the pedal that's responsible for the distortion will also raise the high frequency noise floor. Some active basses are also noisier than others. The higher the gain/level on the amp the louder any hiss will be. These amps really were not intended for high gain or distortion tones, thus no means was provided for turning the tweeter down or off (the usual way to deal with this situation). Same also applies when using the HF attack switch, this raises the high frequency response and also the noise floor.
Thanks for the help! But the hissing happens no matter what bass I use or if I'm running it clean or not. Is it easily replaceable? Thanks!
