I have a Genz Benz GBE 400. Really good amp, but it gets that distorted sound every now and then. Cycling the jacks fixes the problem temporarily, but a few days later the same thing occurs. Is there a permanent fix, or any preventative measure?

Yes, a small squirt of Caig DeOxit (d5) on the return jack's internal normalling switch contacts seems to be the best way to do this for the long term. Applies to ALL amps with serial effects loops that self-normal. Also the defacto standard soklution fro pro audio consoles with normalling insert jacks.

Trun the amp (our amps) upside down and spray a smalla mount into the return jack, that will catch the normalling switch.
