Turn on the amp --> bang --> smoke --> no lights on. It's been like a cartoon, and I am the Coyote ¬¬ I thought that if you take care of it, the amps would last forever, at least the expensive ones. Second problem in 4 years. {} {} Anyone knows how to repair this power supply?
If you like the amp, I would definitely send it to Agedhorse. He continues to service the GB amps and has all the parts. Just as a personal note, I've been playing GB Shuttle amps for many years without a single problem.
Yep. Our very own @agedhorse likely designed it. He's been a ridiculously helpful guy around here for a while now. He's pretty busy taking the amp world by storm. But he might be able to squeeze you in.
Pm me and I will get you the information on the factory service program. Problems with these amps are rare, but sometimes things do happen. All parts are in stock, there's no difficulty getting it fixed right.
I can testify that agedhorse fixed an amp I sent to him a few years ago. I still use that amp at least once a week... so, around 600+ hours since the repair. He does good work. (I still have a Shuttle 6.0, but mostly as back-up since I bought my Subway head. The Shuttle was NOT the amp he fixed for me.)
I am still using a Shuttlemax 9.2 and a pair of Shuttle 9.2's. One of the Shuttle's got damaged when plugged into A/C that was wired wrong and Agedhorse repaired it for a reasonable price and it works like new. I've never had a problem with any of them except the one time with the A/C wiring and that is not the fault of the amp. The stuff not only works....it sounds terrific.
