anyone ever heard their stuff? I see ads all the time for it but ive never seen / heard it in person...anyone?
  2. You read my mind ,leper!

I was going to post that question, but seeing as you already did...

Some people tell me they(GK) have a "sterile" sound, not quite sure what that means(won`t be any little GKs running around??).

Never heard one,nor have I had the opportunity to play through one.

I got the chance to try a couple of there combos the other day. They sounded good to me, and had quite a bit of volume. The knobs on the controls were weighted and had many indentations (when the knob kind of clicks). I was impressed by them enough to consider a new practice amp! They weren't too expensive either.

I had two of these cabs powered by GK 2000RB
...First time I ever used 10's with my bass..
SOUNDED GREAT!! Price is VERY reasonable...
one of the resistors connected to the tweeter
came loose...but that was a very minor

Forget finding the stuff. I tried to find Genz Benz
but they a) don't sell direct b) don't allow their
dealers to sell over the Internet and c) only have
dealers in "some" major cities. Where I live the
metro population is 400,000 - the nearest Genz
Benz dealer is just a quick 180 mile drive away.
Too bad, as they had EXACTLY what I wanted
(this was two weeks ago I did this.....)

  8. The thread is about Genz-Benz. GK normally refers to Gallien-Krueger. There's a difference.

I played several of these excellent amps from the basspalace when they came to a show down in SC... yeah. they are excellent amps.. I like them alot
  10. I tried a zillion different combos before grabbing a Genz-Benz GBE 250c-115. I love this amp!!! Major volume for a combo and the blendable solid state/tube tones are to die for. Fat bottom with loads of top end clarity. The quality of workmanship is way up. This amp is built to last and in my oppinion is the best new combo you can get for the money.
