Brooklyn, NY --- January 25, 2023 GENZLER® AMPLIFICATION proudly announces the long-requested addition of the MAGELLAN PRE/DI PEDAL to their product line of bass effects pedals.

The new MAGELLAN® PRE brings the performance and preamp feature set of our popular Magellan series bass amps into a powerful, feature-laden, compact bass preamp/DI pedal. This is exactly what players have come to expect from the GENZLER® design team -- performance, versatility, and reliability. From natural, pristine, transparent reproduction of the bass instrument to classic, vintage harmonic textures with a “weighted feel to the notes”, the MG-PRE-PEDAL provides the tonal palette needed to cover all the bassist’s tone requirements. All of which is housed in an aircraft-grade aluminum chassis with classic Genzler styling.

The MAGELLAN® PRE/DI pedal all analog design offers a broad feature set:
    • Wide-range Input Gain Control,
    • Unique Foot Switchable Dual Curve Adjustable Contour Circuits,
    • 3 Band Equalization with Sweepable Mids,
    • Foot Switchable Mute Circuit,
    • Aux Input
    • Headphone Output,
    • Balanced/Unbalanced Main Output
    • Balanced XLR Direct Output.
    • Operates on any Power Supply Voltage from 9 – 18VDC, either Polarity

The MG-PRE-PEDAL is also a great companion to other GENZLER AMPLIFICATION effects, such as their 4 ON THE FLOOR Classic Overdrive Pedal, CRASH BOX-4 Classic Distortion Pedal and RE/Q 5 band EQ + Filter Pedal.

Haven’t tried this, but I like the sound of what Genzler does with eq. Lots of the right kind of flexibility, especially HPF, and an alternate sort of contour that accentuates low mids.

Have one inbound. Supposed to be here Friday...

  4. And a headphone out (which every good pre/DI pedal) should have... I’m interested.

I have one already and was more than thrilled with it’s performance and features. Signal to noise ratio is excellent. Far surpassed a TC Electronic Spectradrive that it replaced. Nate Navarro’s demo of the pedal well show cases it’s flexibility and capabilities. Exceeded my expectations.

    Mine arrived early, go GC!
I didn’t have time/opportunity to play with it for real but did noddle a little at home with good quality monitor headphones. Not a test of any measure to be sure, but man, even under those conditions, it’s a great tool. Dead quiet, plenty of eq options. Very easy to dial in a pleasing tone! I do wish they could have somehow worked those smoother silent foot switches into the design. Small complaint for such an awesome pedal. Definitely something I can live with.

  10. I'd be interested in sound samples and/or impressions in "feel" of

    > classic, vintage harmonic textures

If it pretty much transfers to "saturated amp close to breakup, but not yet in OD territory", this thing could replace three boxes on my board, while providing better EQ options than I have at the moment. Unfortunately, no way to test-drive it myself at the moment. :/

I am curious to know if anyone has compared this to the Mesa D800+ pedal.
