Well.. Here is it. I bought it, played it twice. Don't like it. This is an exquisite instrument. The Cocobolo top is stunning. The feel of the neck is amazing. The fit and function is spectacular. The action is amazing.
For me, the neck is just too wide. Uncomfortable for me. Pretty much a standard width for 5'ers, but I don't play standard 5 string basses. Mine all have narrow spacing.
This bass was set up for me by Tim Connally who is the master luthier for Hofner America. I have had the bass for 6+ months and only played it twice. Too much of a bass to sit in my basement in it's case.
If you opened this, you know all the specs. I did upgrade from the BQS 2 band preamp to the BQC 3 band with sweapable mids. I will include the original system with the bass. As you know EMG has the plug and play systems so no alterations were made to the bass at all.
I have a 40 pic's from the pre-finish stages through the finished bass. I will post the pertinent few here, but ask and I can send or post more.

35" scale. Weight is right about 8.5 pounds IIRC..

Most people find GGI5 basses to be awkward at first. The neck profile is super flat, thin and feels a bit wide because of it. Once a person gets used to these necks they are super fast and the easiest to play basses. They aren't for everyone especially not traditional Fender lovers. The neck profile is nothing like modulus. I love these basses and have owned 3. I only sold mine to pay for surgeries. My GGI4 is always a favorite with people visiting. If I needed another gigging bass I would jump on this super fast! GLWTS !! She's a beauty for sure!
