George L's cable in a rack?

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by soundoholic, Oct 15, 2003.

  1. Has anybody used George L's cable in a rack? I'm thinking about using it all through my rack to make it look nice and clean. I'm just wondering if it will be good enough for bass frequencies.

If I wasn't so lazy, I'd have tidied up my own rack with GeorgeL. :p I use GeorgeL's as instrument cable and they sound great... I'm sure they'd sound just as good in the rack.
  3. What type of cable do you use? the 155, vintage red, or 255?

I don't use anything else but George Ls and even use them in my rack. I use the standard 155 for both instrument and rack.

I've been using the skinny ones as instrument cable for a couple of years now. Doesn't seem like that's what they're designed for, but I step on 'em every gig and they've held up great.

My whole rack is done up with .155 George L's. I tried using the fatter George L's as instrument cables, but they didn't really work out. They kept bunching and the cable kept losing contact with the plugs. IME George L's are only good for stationary applications.
