And I've never owned one before.

Any tips on bringing myself up to speed?

I'm a total finger style player, I use pick on occasion, but I'm really cut from the clothe of Geezer Butler and Cliff Burton.

    I'm getting a EBMM Stingray 5 SH.

  3. Just play it you will get used to it, some will say rest your thumb on the B string, if it makes you feel more comfortable do it.

  4. Yes, it's all about relearning to keep your unplayed strings muted. Anchoring your thumb on the low B most of the time works well. I was having a hard time adjusting, so I kept switching back and forth between the 4 and the 5. Once I put the 4 down and forced myself to only play the 5, it was a piece of cake. You'll get it!
