Heart attack 4 years ago. Triple bypass last December. Arthritis all over. Certain things no longer work, at all. Diabetes and now neuropothy(I know that isn't spelled right). Lots of smaller things happening. Friends, family, and favorite people dying. Getting shut out of job opportunities because of ageism. Hearing your favorite songs on an OLDIES radio station. Yes, getting older bites. And I'm only 57 still. Russ
I started to get Neuropathy a couple of years ago & changed my diet for the better, which ceased the tingling in my feet at night.
Dang and here I am getting bothered by little hairs beginning to sprout on my shoulders that weren't there before. Jeesh I hope things get smoother for yah.
Yep definitely. Acid reflux, achalasia, IBS, none of it works right. Blood clots. Cramps. Can't do much physical sustain without getting out of breath. First tooth besides the wisdoms will be coming out soon. It's much tougher to get down and work all hunched over on the floor like I love to do, I don't like working at tables. But as long as I can still play bass, I'm good.
I'm still working in my chosen trade and I am still in pretty good shape for almost 66. The usual aches and pains but nothing overwhelming. BP pill twice a day and cancer in remission. Much gratitude for still being here.
I'm only 45 and I can clearly see the fork in the road ahead. I'm trying to smooth out all of my remaining bad habits before it's too late.
It's definitely a turning point. I've injured myself more between 40 and 50 than I did the previous 40 years. We are not made of rubber anymore. I wish my 20 year old brain would get in sync with my 50 year old body! I'm not even counting the various chronic afflictions!
Diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 25. That's been my prominent health issue for decades now. All the other things seem minor in comparison. Didn't have a chance to get old before the sucking started. Design of the the human body is such that it's good for about 40 years. I should have purchased the extended warranty plan.
I share your pain. Got achalasia at age 20, it sucks the big one. Only seems to get worse, especially the reflux. I already feel old as dirt, and I just turned 30. Still beats being dead, as another poster pointed out.
Not giving anything away here, but this was a hit when I was a boy - the B Side of the first record I ever got These days it's become an anthem of sorts
I had the same thing done last May. Actually, my injury was at the shoulder and not the elbow. Arm is not the same though. I'm very careful about how much weight I lift these days.
