How should I try to remove all the rust that had collected on the exposed pole pieces of my Imperial 5's duncan dual coils? Marc

Take the pickups out of thier covers. Make sure that the wire is not exposed. If it is try and cover it up with tape or something that will come off easy. Then use a wire brush or steel wool. The important thing is that you protect wire spun around the pole pieces. You don't want any metal particals attaching to the pickups. Remember that pickups are magnetic and can get stuff stuck on them. Hope this helps. If you don't feel comfortable doing this call Joey and ask what the best method would be. He is alway very helpful and the only cat who answers the phone!!
