Who wants in??
Didn't someone have this idea quite a few months ago? And then a few months later?
I don't want in.
Didn't see anything when i ran a search. Closest thing was "i dont wana be in a club club". I mean, im just starting to get fed up with seeing a flipping club for evvvverything out there.
I thought this was a bass players forum and there's clubs for everything, from God to guns to cigars....
You must have missed the "Off" part of the Off Topic forum. Seeing as this is a bass site, this particular portion of the forum would necessarily have anything BUT bass related stuff in it. I'm glad I could help.
Yeah it was started after a Tb'er created like 3 clubs in 5 minutes one day and was quickly shut down by the mods.
I agree however, my "Basses that make noise club" should have stayed.
May we rename this the contradictory club?
I am still waiting for the "Bassists with weekly ailments club"
yeah, it has gotten kinda old.
I saw the "off" part of "off topic" and I follow your reasoning.
I was just getting in the spirit of the newly forming....
"Getting sick of seeing "club" threads club"
we have a "Bassists with weekly ailments" fan club!
Is there bacon??
I like the clubs.....it saves people creating billions of threads on the same subject when they can go on the relevant club thread and ask there.
This is why we have clubs.
If you don't like the link, don't click on it. I'm sick of seeing people whine about the most pedestrian stuff, while one of our low-end bretheren had bombs going off in his neighborhood over the weekend.
That probably happens every weekend to one or more of the posters here, and it's never stopped people whining about stuff before. Nor should it, IMHO.
Maybe a better way to parody the 'club' situation is for people to insert random made-up club names and numbers in their signatures. If a bunch of people did this, then all 'club membership' info would become just so much background noise. For it to be most effective, it's probably best to keep to slightly-believable club names, and also to use a high (therefore implying it is a popular club), but not too high (reducing believability) number.
