getting that "mid-range cut" from my amp

  1. HI,

I was wondering, where in the mids should i boost my singnal to get the most cut out of my bass? I play in a acousitc band with one guitar player, and drumset. My rig is a SWR henry powered by a Ampeg svt3-pro. My bass is a fretless stingray5, i'm looking to cut thru the mix better, i'd love for those people in the audiance to hear that "muahwww" as well is i do onstage. BTW we play at a pretty low volume as far as bands go.

Boosting the mids, well maybe somewhere around 160 Hz to 250 Hz. That's seems pretty general, but around there. Mids are good, and everyone should accept them with arms wide open. Mids are great!!!

To bring out the fretless mwah try boosting around 800 hz too.
  4. I agree, fretless needs 800hz.
  5. 25 ~ 100 Hz Power, Depth, Boom
125 ~ 500 Hz Presence, Definition, Honk, Punch
    630 ~ 2500 Hz Growl, Edge, Harshness
    3150 ~ 20000 Hz Brilliance, Sparkle, Noise
