Is there a big difference between the model with the sliding pick and the g-3 with the 3 different pick ups? Which one do grabber players prefer and why?

The sliding pup model was someone's good idea that went
    wrong, IMO.

Noisy, hard to adjust in a gig situation, etc. I think it was a decent bass overall, but I've never known anyone who likes them.

    Any Grabber lovers out there?

I like my Grabber. Nice and lightweight and punchy tone.

I had a G-3 in the late 70's. I don't remember much about it, really. I guess it was OK. It was my main bass for a couple years. I played alot of jazz back then, and alternated between flats and tape-wounds, so I didn't get a ton of punch.

The sliding p'up on the Grabber was a maintenance issue, as I understood. Moving parts = repairs.
