Um... it's more probably a Hondo copy, refinished and assigned a waterslide Gibson decal.

It might be a great bass for $199, though, if you like it and can afford it, get it and put something else on the headstock. ("Lawsuit Guitars, Inc."?:roflmao::cool:)

I really don't care for Jazz Basses other than the necks,I like Jazz necks,I was just wondering if someone is selling something that has value without there understanding of what it is,it's been listed for a long time now so I'm guessing anyone that sees it knows it a a fake??

Most likely, especially if they look at it in person closely (I'm assuming). The chances of it being an actual "undiscovered" old Gibson prototype as claimed by the seller aren't quite exactly zero, but...

I'm not entirely certain, but that headstock looks like a 70's Electra, and they did offer a Jazz copy way back when.

It's fake for heaven's sake. Gibson never remotely did these, prototype or otherwise.

  10. It could be cool for 199 though

Do you seriously think that Gibson or Fender would copy each others basses?

It's got the two buzzwords 'vintage' and 'rare' in the description, so that makes it very desirable, right?
    LOL

But not "original", thereby missing the holy trinity of sucker-bait words.
