:help: My Gibson LP Standard Bass arrived this afternoon, Vintage Sunburst & a beauty. I do not care much for round-wound strings on a bass, so I ordered a set of TI flats. The only info I can find on the Gibson website pertaining to set-up of a Bass, is that at the 12th fret, bass side should be 7/64 & treble 5/64. I can't find any info searching here about heighth above the pups, etc. This is a 2004 model & has the stop-bar style tailpiece & bridge, not the 3 way bridge like the SG & Thunderbird have.

  2. Pickup height is adjustable individually and is usually a matter of taste. Small adjustments in height can make for significant changes in tone with certain pickups and strings. Experimentation is the key here. Besides, once the height at the 12th fret is set, you couldn't change it over the pups without changing it over the 12th fret.
