This is an amazing bass. It's thumpy; it's growly; it's articulate; it's a 34"-scale semihollow Gibson. Although it bears a resemblance to mudbucker-equipped Gibsons of old, the front pickup is actually a TB-style humbucker that provides an entirely useable tone, both alone an in conjunction with the mini-HB at the bridge. The bridge pickup is also useable on its own, so the bass has a great thump tone, a nice snarly snappy tone, and a pleasantly balanced tone with both pickups together.

For the details on what it is and how it's put together, here's a link to the product page on Gibson's web site. There's a Midtown club thread, with lots of comments about this model. Some people have had QC issues with theirs, but, this is one of the good ones. It's in practically new condition. Weighs approximately 8 3/4 lbs. It's strung with GHS flats, but the stock roundwounds are in the case.

$1050 shipped in the lower 48. Questions? Post or message me.

No trades; I'm only getting rid of this one because I really need to raise some cash.

Looks great! How long have you had it? Any noticeable wear? I've been contemplating between a midtown and a jack casady, and from videos I've seen it seems that the midtown can give a more punchy/aggressive tone

I bought it in December, and it's only been out of its case a handful of times since then. No visible (to me) wear. (The case has a scuff on it, but the bass is pretty pristine.)

The Midtown can indeed get a very punchy tone.

Very cool bass. If it was the blue one I would be all over it. Want one real bad and would black all the hardware out. These basses are really nice and this is a sweet deal. Its rare to see semi hollows in a 34" scale like this. I dislike short scales big time.

I took the Midtown out recently to a roots/bluegrass jam, and it was a true joy to play and its front-pickup thumpy woody tone was perfect for that music. Part of me wants to keep it, but, I really need to raise some cash---my loss is your gain! Act now!
