@BassHappy has bought a few 32” scale basses from a certain seller who’s name escapes me now with no issues whatsoever

 

A common practice is for some sellers to post pics of basses they don't actually own.
Other than that, is there a particular one you're thinking about buying?
As for the price being cheaper, you have to facor in $125 for shipping and the possibility of hidden fees.
Regardless, are you talking about used prices, which are all over the place, or the price for new Epiphones?

I bought a pristine 2008 Standard in cherry gloss with original case for $800 two or three years ago

The colour is on the rare side for that year, but $950 is *at least* $150 over the going rate for these in the U.S. Other than that, the bass appears to be in a fine shape. But with roughly $1100 with shipping it is woefully overpriced. That amount of money enters the territory of vintage Gibson basses.

If it doesn't have to be black, there's a boatload of them going around for less...

I've purchase 2 sg's from japan in the last month, both have been great scores. No issues. Just gotta know who you're buying from.

Too bad that the original pickup is no longer in place, although I'm sure it sounds fine with the DiMarzio.

 

The current pickup is late 70’s early 80’s? Was there when I got it in 84.

 

That's a DiMarzio Model One and not a Gibson pickup, couldn't tell you the age of it but they've been around since the late 70s. That's why the switch was installed as well. Knobs have also been replaced, but that's not a big deal.

As long as it plays and sounds well, just rock it...

 

Not a smoking deal by any means but if the seller has what you are looking for, you can’t pay too much, you can only buy too early.

Paid a lot less for my 2006 cherry.
