    Are Gibson Thunder Plus Medium-Heavy Bass Strings good for Punk, Metal and all kind´s of rock?

    I stopped in at the gibson plant in nashville this weekend and played a thunderbird4 and a explorer with these strings and found them a little well...I'd say not very bright,they sounded like a set of "broken in "strings real bottomy,I didnt care for them but I like a very bright string,they did have a nice feel to them.actualy I thought they sounded a lot like Gezer Butler's tone of black sabbath.hope this helps.
