i have been playing for a bout three years and have 3 fenders(well 2 jazzes and one squier p) and have just recently picked up a gibson thunderbird at bass emporium here in austin and absolutely fell in love with a natural burst t bird. The bass feels and sounds completly different than any my fenders and was just wondering if anyone was so instantly amazed by these basses as i was a few days ago. i had played epiphone t birds and wasen't amazed but this gibson one is AWESOME.

I've had my T-bird for 4 years now & it's the most "well rounded" of all of my basses. It's got massive low end, but a great snarling midrange punch as well.
The neck is impossibly thin & so, so fast.
No matter what band I play with & no matter what bass I bring everybody still says "Where's the T-bird man?!"

I have picked up some really nice basses of late (Sadowsky, Skjold, MTD, Tobias, Fodera), but I still have a lotta love for my T-bird!

I tried Half Rounds on mine but only the heaviest guage sounded right to me. In general, I like medium guage SS rounds on mine.
