What do you folks think of these?
I found one today w/ OHSC. It is in superb condition and I found it to have a very bassy, hi-fi type of tone, only not a lot of high end. But of course the strings were DOA.
Someone told me the pickups and electronics were Bartolinis in these. Can anyone verify that?
BTW, what is a good price on these? And which do you prefer, P or J? Or PB&J?

I owned one back in the mid-80's. I thought it looked really cool (especially w/the T-bird-like headstock), and had a nice chunky-wide neck. I wanted very much to like it, but couldn't get good tone from it. YMMV... if you like it, go for it!

Bartolini electronics or pickups were never stock in the Gibson Victory basses.someone replaced the original electronics and pickups with the Barts.

    Thanks for the replies.
The pickups on this bass don't have the Bart logo on them, so I am inclined to believe they are the stock ones... and probably not Barts at that.
I don't think I am gonna pick this one up.

  5. These things had Moog preamps.

Same preamp as the RD Artist, probably the same pickups, too.
