Gig time

    this isn't a story about a gig so im putting it here...

    about how many songs should my band be able to fit into a 25-30 minute set? with very little improv time and not that much talking.

    That would really depend on the length of the songs.

    But in any case, my band usually gets about 12 songs into a 40 to 50 minute set. So you could use that as a rough estimate.

    is that including setting up + taking down?
    or is that just the set?

    that is just the set...and the songs range from 2 minutes to 6 minutes

    Why don't you play your set and time it?

    That way you'll know if you're over or under the allotted time.

    IME, it's better to have too many songs and cut a couple than to fall short.
