We played a 2 night gig at a pretty good sized venue at a casino this past weekend and I got to fire up my new rig for the 1st time (besides practicing). It's a Carvin B500 rack mount head and a Carvin 410 cab. I played my Jazz and Melinium basses thru it both nights and I really like what I got from this rig. I've been a Peavey amp guy for years but got a really good deal on this rig from Carvin so I figured I'd give 'em a whirl. It had plenty of presence and bottom, and I really like the 6 channel EQ/tone channels. The venue was a large room with high ceilings, "modern architecture.....", and it didn't lose much at all as the sound hit the room and the acoustic conditions of those high ceilings. We play classic rock and classic and current country. This rig did everything I wanted it to and more.

Nice! It's a good feeling when your expectations are meet and exceeded!

  3. Congrats, nothing like that rush of relief and adrenaline as the new rig not only works, but works well!
