If I could get this bass I might put my Spector's down for a week:
dude......I dig that.
I dig that too... alot. Those pickups are interesting.. what kind are they?
The pickups used on the Interceptor are the same that were used on the El Toro, G&L humbuckers smaller than those on the L-2000. They're supposed to sound more jazz-ish than the L-2000 and I've heard them referred to as a "Jazz bass on steroids"
is that new?
No way, if it was, I'd get one. From what I understand it was a special model - probably unattainable nowadays - I don't remember the dates though.
G&L stopped making the Interceptor bass in '91. They only made like 400 or so. It's beleive that about half of them had a Kahler bass whammy installed on them- cool at the time but impractical now.
Some had the electronics of the El Toro, the rarer ones had the same L-2000 electronics...
If you can get it or you want to start a collection, I suggest you get one.
Here ya go:
Not only is it an Inteceptor...it has a factory WHAMMY!!!
