So, I just picked up a GK 1000RB on eBay. And then searched the site here for information about the head. Backwards, right. Oh well. Anyway, the head arrived today and sounds flat out great.

The site search turned up a bunch of comments about the 1000RB being a lemon. However, most of the comments were mainly hearsay. I was wondering if anyone knew of any specific issues that I will need to be thinking about repair-wise. Like, what specific problems does anyone know of? For instance, were the issues infant mortality or long term, not repairable or what? The head sounds terrific; so, I'm hoping I'm not looking at anything major. I'd greatly appreciate any details anyone might have.

I think the control pots on the front panel in some had bad solder joints.

Thanks. That sounds like the kind of thing that, if it doesn't show pretty quickly, shouldn't be an issue.
