Both of these amps seem to have
    similar power specs. Whats the
headroom like in the real world with
these two amps? I'll have to check
    out the tone for myself.

    Sulphur La,
Trip from GK here. The GK will have a faster transient response and more headroom. The SWR will be slower and more buttery. Give them both a shot. Of course I am partial to the GK.;)

Trip... Would you say the 700rb
has about the same headroom as
an 800rb? Similar tone? It seems
like you were saying the SWR has
perhaps a warmer, fatter tone. No??

    Sulphur La,
The 700 has more headroom than the 800. The 700 also has more headroom than the 350x SWR. The SWR will have that "soft scooped midrange tone." The GK's will just blast. You can try this; When A-Bing a 700 with the 350 SWR, cut the hi-mid knob on the 700. Then listen to the amps. The GK will "warm" up when this knob is cut. The GK will have more definition though. Keep the questions coming!!

    OH TRIP???
If the 700rb has more power
    more headroom and more flexibility
then the 800rb, why is the 800rb
more expensive. I still love my
    800rb, but its very old.

    Sulphur La,
It is more expensive because it is an older design. Older parts means they are harder to find. That's what makes it more expensive. That's the straight dope!:)

    Trip....
    Thanks. You're the best
    representative GK has had
in many years. I told you years
ago that you don't have to be in L.A. to be a success.
    Thanks for being honest and
selling the crap out of GK at
    the same time.

    Sulphur La,
Pardon? You speak as if we have met before. If I have met you before then hello again. Thanks for justifying my existence with the company. It means a bunch.......
