Did a search but found nothing. Any thoughts?
You can't go wrong with the 800RB.........
No contest. 800RB.
the workingman is like a squier bass. ive played both heads and a variety of cabs and cant say that i liked any of it. the gk is a pro amp that was the standard for years. gk hands down
hands also down.
GK all day long.
GK all the way
I don't even like GK!! ... Get a GK...
I'm about to buy some GK in the next few weeks. GK all the way.
which would be louder? 800rb is 300 watts while the 4004 is 400 watts?
i own the 4004 so i am looking for a step up in volume and tone
So you need an 800RB and a bigger cab or one more cab.
Don't you like the tone of your SWR? What cab do you play?
And that's not loud enough?
What kind of music do you play and where do you play it?
I like that cab. It sounds great and performs great. Get a second one of these if you really need more volume. More watts isn't going to do much.
As for another head... depends on your tonal preference.
Tone is also in your cab though. Don't you like the tone of your cab?
I owned both. The 800rb is louder and has better tone. It can also take a lot of abuse. Keep it cool though. No thermal protection. I just use a fan pointed at it. Never failed me.
The G-K is conservative on the 300 watt rating. That said not a lot of difference between 300 and 400 watts even if it is an honest rating. Now double your speakers and tone and volume come a live! Go with a like cab first!
Then move up to the G-K.
swr also uses the radiator cooling system. i play a ton of shows so i cant use a fan. does it tend to get too hot without one?
I've played at close to 11:00 on the master outside into a 4 ohm cab when it was 120 in the shade. Never really thought the amp was too "hot"?
800RB IMHO! Better build, classic tone, looks cooler!
you guys sold me on it i think. gonna see if my shop will trade my 4004 and ampeg 350h for a 800rb. high hopes!
