gk backline cabs help please!

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by affro, Jun 4, 2003.

  1. hi guys.
i have the opportuniy to snap up a gallien-krueger 210 backline cab for a really cheap price.
    my current rig is:
    swr bass350
    warick 410pro

i was intending on getting this 210 cab and using it for practice or small gigs where i might not need the 410, and for really big gigs i could add it to the 410 and have both.

before i go ahead and buy it, i just have a query:
what is the sound of these cabs like, and what is the reliability like?
i havent had much experience with gk before.

I own the Backline 4x10 and i think it's a pretty solid cab. I assume the 2x10 is pretty good too. I haven't had any problems with my 4x10 and i am pleased with it, i'm sure the 2x10 would make a decent cab to use for small gigs and practices.
  3. thanx for the advice dude.
the other cabs i was looking at before this one were a laney 210 (with celestians) and the hartke 2.5xl. these are both about the same price, but the gk is under half the cost of either of these two! this is why i am looking at it.
any other opinions would also be much appreciated!!
  4. The 210 and 410 cabs are essentially the SBX cabinets without the tweeter. Good quality, good tone. And giggable.
