I picked up a cool GK 400B Head (not 400RB). Early 80s I think. It is about 280 watts, has two 4 ohm outs, loud as fugg, and has whats labeled as a "Pre Amp Out" and "Power Amp In" on the rear. Is this the same as an effects send and return? Or is it a DI out? Or neither?

    Any help is appreciated.

Since there is no DI out of this head I am utilizing a VT Bass VTRM rackmount which has a DI out. Id like to record the combined GK head and the VT bass signals into an interface. Is there a way to somehow get the GK into the mix of the DI out on the VT Bass? Can the VT Bass go inbetween the head and cab somehow?

    It can't go in between.
Your best bet would be to DI out of the VT and mic the cab at the same time. Record to separate tracks so you can mix them later.

    What he said ^

Cool find on the head though, GK has always made some pretty slammin' stuff (Backline/Goldline stuff aside, we don't acknowledge it).
