Hi -- my MB200 suddenly started taking about a minute to power on, if not on for a few hours. If it is powered on, shut down, and then powered on again, it starts right up, but if left off overnight it takes 40 to 60 seconds for the LED to come on and amp to function. This situation has been consistent for a few weeks, and observed at multiple sources of AC. Any insight?

Does it do it on any circuit? I had this problem with mine when I plugged it in at my shop, and it turned out that we had a defective neutral wire in the building electrical circuit.

Yes, it happens at multiple venues. It's something that can be lived with now, but am wondering if it is a sign of coming failure.

The MB200 does a few system checks at turn-on. It will look at the speaker impedance, it looks for shorts, etc. I may not like what its seeing at turn-on. The speaker may have changed res. Try a turn-on with no speaker connected and see if it changes.

Tried it with no speaker, same problem. Thanks for the suggestion.

  7. Sounds like a call to GK is in order. The power in those heads is fed from the amp module. Even with the checks it shouldn't take that long. Sounds like something's a miss on the power supply / amp board.
