Great amp, etc...... However on smaller stages and rooms its pointed at the back of my knee's and get difficult to hear. Anyone else using a stand for this combo? I see two bassic types, floor tilt-back or raised up. What has worked well (or not) for you?
So what about an Amp Wedge? http://www.amazon.com/Ampwedge-Poly...-Floor/dp/B0002GO1JI/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
I simply remove the rear casters and it tilts the amp at the perfect angle. I use a piece of that non slip drawer liner between the cab and either my mb500 or skb racked mb fusion 500. Works awesome.
BUMP Thanks for the replies, but not looking to hull something big around and I don't have casters on the MB212 combo. I'm wondering about tilt stands vs riser stands and whats worked best for others with this same or similar combo. - Portable and light weight. - Not going to fall apart after a year or so. - gets the speakers pointed at my ears rather than the back of my knees.
I use this one. Works perfectly, adjustable tilt. http://www.quiklok.com/catalog/?p=productsMore&iProduct=212&sName=BS-317
I run into the same issue...and have the same requirements. Having your tone aimed at your head is very important if you want to not kill the singers and mess with the FOH mix. Especially nowadays where FOH systems are very common. I just ordered this: http://www.standback.net/ It should arrive this week (hope in time for my gig on Sat) and I will report back.
I saw that and also the amp wedge i posted earlier.....reviews i read on the standback, many stated that yes iit works but its cheaply made and falls apart quickly.
I've used it with my Orange Crush 50, Orange Terror 500 Combo, GK MB212 II, GK MBP 115. Works as good as you'd want with all of them.
how about a 2x4 or 4x4 cut 1-2" shorter than the width of the amp?....infinite variable angles, just don't tilt past tipping point...or fashion 2 back stop wedges
