ok ive had a gallien krueger 1001rb-ii for the past year or so along with a rbh 1x15.
just got a 4x10 rbh cabinet to go with it today and tried it on its own and it seems a tiny bit distorted... but im not sure if its just the gk growl and i havent noticed it because i only had the 1x15.. so anyone own these cabs who can tell me if the 4x10 has significantly more growl than the 1x15 or is there something wrong with it..

im a paranoid man so theres probably nothing wrong it still sounds great but just wanna check before its too late to send it back if there is anything wrong.

  2. You will hear more of the different voicings with the 410! You may need to adjust the boost or input gain, that sound was probably there before, just lost in the 115? BTW they are both 8 ohm cabs right?

yeh both 8ohm, if its that then cool cool so. just wanted to check

  4. does it distort at lower volume? You might want to check and make sure something isn't blown. Take the grill off and gently push on the speakers. If you hear a clicking or scraping sound then its blown.

thank god for paranoia... cheers for the help anyway. does this happen alot? cause i did nothing to cause this, got the cab(bought new) plugged it in and it sounded distorted straight off, playing at a low volume, no stupid eq boosting or anything.
gonna ring the company i bought it from in a while. sucks living in ireland anything goes wrong im screwed and have to send it overseas as theres no gk dealer in ireland.

    Sounds like damage during shipping.

I'd call GK direct and ask them to send you a new speaker. Chances are good they will hook you up, and much faster than dealing with the vendor. Just my 2 pence, :)

sent off a returns request thing to the company anyway.. yeh ive dealt with gk before they were very good. but i dont know if id be able to install a speaker myself and with no gk dealers around i dunno who would. i have no luck with musical equipment.. ive had to return both the head and the 1x15 before now, my ibanez bass and now this. someone doesnt want me to play music :(

  10. there is a backline company in Ireland that has a relationship with GK. I think it's called Litton Lane if I remember correctly. They might be able to help you install it. Contact the distributor and see if they'll work with them on it. I assume its still Beyerdynamic.
