Its seems that alot of people have been asking "whats a compressor, what does OHM mean"? etc etc. Now i know theres a few things that explain things like this in the FAQ, but mabye a glossary may help a bit more. A list from A-Z explaining what a compressor is and how it works, and perhaps even explainging a bit of physics of music and sound. What do you all think?
Good idea, a lot of work though. perhaps if the work load was divided, interested members that wanted to contribute, could vouch for their area of expertise and write a paragraph or two on whatever item(s) they choose. Then Blackbird can go over them with a fine toothed cone for spelling errors and grammatical mistakes, and then when it's it would make for a lovely addition to TB. perhaps it could be a work-in-progress type thing, where entries are submitted as they are completed, but people can view it the whole time.
Im willing to think of a few terms that need explination around here. Could you guys tell me a few terms/objects that really need clear defining for the modern day newbie?

Just an observation, but it's interesting how few of the items on those lists, Kirby, are related to music, and how many are related to gear.
Ahh yes, good point. It is just that i cant think of many musical terms that are hard to understand. gimme a bit and ill get onto it
Another Observation, based off of yours. It's interesting how many newbies only care about gear and not music.
Heres the word file with a few more added. Someone want tostart adding definitions. Oh yeah, i tried to list them alphabetically, but it didnt work
