    sooo...what do ya think?

    do they give tours?

maybe they could educate me on what a fretless is...i'm STILL having a hard time grasping the concept of a bass without frets...

i mean...how can that be? how do the notes sound? would it just be a continuous glissando?

  2. Fretless:

An electric bass with no frets. Pitches are produced by pressing the string directly against the fingerboard, as opposed to being stopped by a fret. Continuous gliss is possible, but undesirable it makes the audience ill :) )

Ever seen a member of the strings family (Violin, viola, 'cello or double bass)? Those operate on the same principle.

Tell me you understand now?

    sooooooooooo....JT...

ya think they'd let me tour the facility?

since you're the direct line to "extended range heaven", maybe you could put in a good word for me.

maybe i could hawk some 3D CAD business to Mr. Bill.

    violins are fretless? weird.

No, started way back during the great depression.

We had to built our basses from matches, a telephone mic and barbed wire fo' strings.
    Couldn't afford d'em fancy frets... :D
