I'm going overseas for a 2 week gig in June and I'm having all sorts of problems with the airlines regarding carrying my bass on board. I would be taking a Smith or a Zon for the gig but I don't want it in baggage. Last year my case was smashed and I worried all the time about theft. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?

That would be me! I've taken basses to Korea, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Germany, England,....you get the picture.

    - Invest in a flight case

    - Get a headless carry-on

Before 11 Sep, I would show the baggage handlers where to store the bass on the plane. Can't do that anymore!
