I am not a big fan of maple boards, but the bass looks excellent and that flamed body...

    Go for it

I am a gigantic fan of F basses (based on their looks alone, I'm sure they play and sound great as well), and you can't possibly imagine how much I envy you, you lucky SOB! ;)

New or used? How much of a fortune will that one cost you?

George Furlanetto is a well-known luthier - his basses are beautiful and sound good. Alain Caron can't be wrong! Congratulations. The flame top makes my heart flutter.

Thank you, I've been saving my hard earned cash for 4 months.

Oysterman, the bass is new, after haggling and pulling my teeth, I got it for $2500.

    Again, I looooooooove this bass!!!!!!!

I love F basses! Never play em, but heard Alain play it live before in Vancouver. They sounded awesome.

Somehow, if I were to save money, meaning if I don't have an extra $2500 laying around I wouldnt buy an F bass. Its too expensive for me....but if you're crazy about it....heck! Go for it!:)

So here I am, 11 years later, and getting my F Bass, I looooove this bass!

Thank you Thank you Thank you, God I love this forum, everybody's so supportive.

I guess this bass will cure my GAS for awhile, I will still be a Modulus Bassist and I hope this F Bass won't be a trophy, cos I just love it.

Nice Score. I think F's are the best basses out there. I also think their 6 strings sound much fatter and better than ANY 6 I've owned or played and that includes a piece from nearly every bass brand being made.

Nice bass, I must say that I personally love high quality Canadian basses. I had the pleasure of trying out a few F Basses when I bought my 5 string last year. It came down to a Dingwall and an F Bass and I wound up taking the Dingwall (small personal preference item decided it). I tried the BN 5 and the BNF 5 and found they sounded incredible. I will yet own one, but I must first find a dealer that sells them hear at a more realistic price. Up here an F bass like yours would sell for about $3300-$3500 Can, with a US price of $2500. Now a Dingwall (specifically mine) cost $2900 Can and the same bass in the US (bassnw) was on sale for $3299. I am hoping this was the dealers and not the inherent to Fbass. But, congratulations, I am sure you will love your FBass.

Funny, I was thinking the same way about the price, I was thinking that it would be cheaper in Canada because it's made in Canada and no import tax and all that b.s. But I'm surprised that it's more expensive.

Thank you, it's a beautiful bass!!!!

Another thing that bothers me about expensive bass is that some manufacturers does not include hard shell case. I remember when I bought my first expensive bass a Warwick Dolphin, it comes with a gorgeous wood and aluminum Warwick Flight Case.

    Mmmm, I wonder why?

Not bad. Not bad at all. The Quilt on that is great too.

  19. Congrats on your new F bass! They are the classiest!

I bought mine about 10 years ago for 1400$ CDN, used. Exchanged it for a MF bass and then rebought it for 900$ CDN! Many say it used to be one of Caron's (it doesn't make it any easier to play though).
