A quick question for Goliath II owners and former owners: does the Goliath II have a plastic port tube on the back panel, or just a round hole?

    Thanks!

I bought a new pair of these back in the 90's, neither had port tubes. The carpet just wrapped around the inside of the port hole.

A port is a hole. What's often attached to a port to lengthen it is a duct. The purpose of the duct is to increase the mass of air in the port, which lowers the tuning of the cab. But even if there's no separate duct the port still has length, that being the thickness of the cab wall.

    In your case, probably 3/4".

Well... then to correct our terminology here, these cabs never had a duct.

The more questionable terminology is 'just a round hole', which could be construed as something other than a port. A duct isn't required for the port to do its job.
