Goliath III vs. Mesa Boogie

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by LonghornBass, Sep 4, 2001.

  1. I know this subject has probably been beaten into the ground in the past, but can anyone tell me the tone/volume differences between the Goliath III and Mesa Boogie 4x10s? The Mesa cabs I'm talking about are the newer ones with the brushed aluminum looking metal grills on the front. I tried them both and they seemed to sound similar to me. Although I can get the Mesa for $50 cheaper, I'm not sure which one I want.

The Meas Cabs are definately more of a Rock sound of you ask me. It has a real solid sound to me. When i tried out the Goliath III and Megaliath, i found that it lacked it sound. well, for funk, the SWR would be great. But if you play rock, the Mesa sound is very complete and the SWR, mind you, this is all my opinion, lacks greatly.
