Goncalo Alves as a fingerboard

    It should be hard enough shouldn't it?

    Goncalo Alves is definitely hard enough. This wood will make a great "feel" on a fretless.

    It's pretty oily. Take precautions when gluing.

    Wipe down with acetone first?

    Could you use naptha to clean off the first few layers of oil before gluing?

    is it more oily than most "rosewoods"? I have acetone I don't have Naptha..t

    I mean it as an actual question :D ...will naptha work to remove some of the excess surface oils?
