It should be hard enough shouldn't it?
Goncalo Alves is definitely hard enough. This wood will make a great "feel" on a fretless.
It's pretty oily. Take precautions when gluing.
Wipe down with acetone first?
Could you use naptha to clean off the first few layers of oil before gluing?
is it more oily than most "rosewoods"? I have acetone I don't have Naptha..t
I mean it as an actual question ...will naptha work to remove some of the excess surface oils?
Oh I don't know I guess somebody wil tell us. .t
Naptha will remove oils from the surface, much the same way that acetone will......But, acetone will eveporate much more quickly.
I haven't tried this epoxy from LMI, but have heard good things about it. It is suposed to be great on oily woods like Cocobolo.
